URGENT: Congress must act NOW to support mental health
Decisions are being made RIGHT NOW in Congress on what will end up in the next COVID-19 relief bill. But the current proposal DOES NOT include additional funding for mental health.
One in 3 people in the U.S. are reporting symptoms of anxiety and depression as a result of COVID-19 and the economic downturn. Sadly, 20% of these individuals said they need—but haven’t received—counseling or therapy. We need to do better.
The mental health system, from community supports to inpatient care, is overwhelmed by the number of people who need help because of this pandemic. Our states need funding to provide mental health care during this crisis.
Take action now. Contact your members of Congress to tell them that we can’t afford to leave mental health behind. Every person with a mental illness or experiencing mental health symptoms deserves to get the help they need.
Time is running out and your voice can make the difference.
Tell your members of Congress TODAY to support flexible funding for mental health services and supports in communities across the country – including yours.
