Angst, Raising Awareness around Anxiety

A new documentary that explores anxiety, its causes and effects, and what we can do about it. Through candid interviews, the stories of many kids and teens who discuss their anxiety and its impacts on their lives and relationships, as well as how they’ve found solutions and hope.

The film also includes a special interview with Michael Phelps, a mental health advocate and one of the greatest athletes of all-time. In addition, the documentary provides discussions with mental health experts about the causes of anxiety and its sociological effects, along with the help, resources and tools available to address the condition. The ANGST screening will be followed by an informative panel discussion featuring local experts.

 


Like – The Real Impact of  Social Media on Our Lives

More than 2 billion people have smartphones today. And we check our phones on average an incredible 150 times every day. Technology makes our lives easier in so many ways – but what is the cost of our dependence, and our children’s reliance, on screens? LIKE reveals the true effects of technology on the brain and uncovers the impact social media can have on our lives. The film’s mission is to educate, inform and inspire people to effectively self-regulate their screen time. The LIKE screening will be followed by an informative panel discussion featuring local experts.

 


The Upstanders

MARCH 10TH, 5:30-7PM

The Upstanders explores cyber-bullying, bullying among friends, families, co-workers and the brain science behind it all. The film highlights new laws and programs already reducing bullying in schools and shows us how we can learn to make a difference together to create systemic change. When we look in the mirror we sometimes say things to ourselves we would never say to someone else. Are we bullying ourselves? When we treat ourselves well we model for others how we want to be treated and how others should treat themselves. It has to start with us. The Upstanders will provide resources, tools, and hope. As well as access to well established anti-bullying school programs already making a difference. The UPSTANDERS screening will be followed by an informative panel discussion featuring local experts.
